What is PFI? (Pay for Inclusion)

What is PFI? (Pay for Inclusion)

As the web is developing so are the search engines with free submissions are decreasing in number. This is due to the decline in revenues from the advertisements. What it means is the company who wishes its website to be in the top search result of a search engine must have to pay per URL for it which is the first part of PFI. But this does not end here the company should also make sure that it optimizes its site to remain in the good ranking being the difficult part of PFI. Mere paying will not keep the company’s website in the good ranking. This approach differs from the pay per click phenomenon in which the top bidder for a position holds that position regardless of its rank optimizing efforts. An example of this is INKTOMI search engine that helps other search engines by empowering them with the PFI phenomenon of ranking a website on its optimizing abilities.
