I WANT TO BE NUMBER ONE UNDER THIS KEYWORD. WHAT CAN I AND SHOULD I DO?
In order for the website to be ranked Number One in search engine results, a process called Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is used. Search Engine Optimization is the process by which the quality and quantity of traffic to a website from search engine results is improved. In recent times, SEO has become a lucrative business and there are companies specializing exclusively to provide this service to their clients. In fact, SEO is a well-known marketing strategy in e-business.
The first step in trying to make the website the Number One ranked site in search engine results, is to define clearly what the site is about. Whether the site is about the organization or business or is it going to be about the products the business plans to sell, must be defined clearly. Most business websites would be about the products. If that is the case, all possible keywords which define the product must be written down and then thought must be given to the process of bringing the product to the attention of the users of the internet.
Selection of keywords must be done carefully. Keywords that define the product must be chosen and then expanded. Synonyms of the keyword must be used wherever possible. Different people will use different keywords that denote the same product, while using a search engine. All possible synonyms must be covered. Technical jargons used within the industry must be avoided, except in places where it is absolutely necessary to use them. People from outside the industry and the ordinary laymen may not be using the technical terms while searching the internet. There are millions of internet users around the world who might be searching for the product or service the website offers. Each user has his/her way of defining the product or service. If the same keywords are used repetitively to describe the product or service, then the website will have only those keywords.
The different ways in which the product or service could be defined must be addressed. You should think globally. Now Search Engine Optimization begins. The aim is to find keywords which would help in getting the Number One ranking for the website.
SEO begins when you start evaluating your website by using keywords on a search engine. Use different keywords that you have used in your website. If your website is displayed on the first page of the search results, then it is optimized highly for those words. If it appears in the following pages, it is not so highly optimized for those keywords. If your website does not appear in the Top Five or Ten search results, try other keywords used in the website. If a keyword used in your website is used rarely by other websites displayed in the search results, then it is good news. This will go a long way towards helping your website become the Number One ranked website in search engine results.
