Cost Per Click

What is Cost Per Click (CPC)
Title:  It’s a Numbers Game 
Cost per Click is sometimes confused with Pay per Click.  This should not be so since Pay per Click or PPC refers to payments for click-throughs while Cost per Click or CPC is the measurement of each cost on per click basis.  CPC is not based on click-throughs.  Example of this would be those marketing campaigns that are not based on clicks.  These campaigns could be impression-based and they are sold differently. 
Most industry insiders caution marketers against Cost per Click.  According to them it may not be advisable to continue with sites which are solely based on Cost per Click since post-click statistics may not turn out to be as expected.
