Link Farm

What is a link farm?

A link farm refers to a collection of websites that are hyperlinked to each other with in the same group. Although link farms can also be created manually but usually they are made with the assistance of automated programs or other such type of services. In other words we can also say that it is a type of search engine spamming. But a word of caution to be considered here is that it should not be mixed with the selective exchange of links. One can have the example of a link farm website by entering the text “a link farm example” and the search engine will let you know what websites do actually best fit the example.

What are Links?

What is a Link Farm?

Link farms are sites where users exchange reciprocal links in the hopes of boosting their search engine rankings.  The focus for web masters has become one directional links that do not help another site out and instead improve their rankings, but link farm sites are still used.  They are also frowned upon by most search engines and the major ones will penalize sites by listing them lower in their listings if too many links come from such sites.   A link or two on such a site may not harm the web master, but it is better not to use reciprocal linking services.
